Samsung Mobile Interested Build Factory in Indonesia



After Foxcon, which is finalizing plans to build a plant in the Modern Cikande Industrial Estate (MCIE), Banten, Samsung is also reportedly considering building a mobile phone factory in Indonesia. This information was obtained from one Samsung executive.

Samsung head unit in Indonesia, Kanh Hyung Lee, said that he had met with the Minister of Industry, MS Hidayat, who said the government Indonesia offers opportunities for foreign investment to create jobs and promote economic growth in Indonesia.

MS Hidayat offer some incentive for Samsung to want to build a plant in Indonesia. Hyung also confirmed that the government of Indonesia tried to reassure foreign investors that their investment is safe and will not be disturbed regulatory issues in Indonesia.

So far there has been no definitive information when Samsung will start building a plant in Indonesia. However, the South Korean manufacturer revealed that they are indeed interested in building mobile phone factory here. Moreover, Indonesia is not a new country for them, considering that Samsung Electronic factory had been established here.
